If you played the 67 Challenge before and you’re coming back in 2026, here’s what’s changed — new records, improvements to the wave detection, and where the community stands now.
New high scores in 2026
The global leaderboard has seen some impressive pushes since the game launched. The world records page tracks the top all-time submissions, but the most competitive scores in 2026 have come from players who’ve clearly been training consistently.
The highest verified scores in the 20-second mode now push well into the 90s — a tier that would have seemed impossible when most players were still learning that wrist-led technique beats arm-waving.

Wave detection improvements
The on-device AI detection has become more consistent at high speeds. Early players sometimes found that very fast hands caused detection to “skip” reps. The current version handles high-frequency waves more reliably, which means scores above 70 are more accurately counted now than when the app first launched.
If you hit a plateau around 65–66 and wondered if detection was capping your score, trying the current version is worth it.
VIP mode usage
More players are using the Extended (40s) and Marathon (60s) VIP modes to train. Playing longer sessions builds endurance and teaches you to maintain clean wrist-led form past the point where most people start to degrade into arm-waving.
The strategy: use the 60-second Marathon mode to practice, but compete on the 20-second Standard leaderboard. Training longer than you compete is a technique borrowed from sprinting.
